Agricultural production increased by 40% in 10 years: Union Minister Chauhan

Union Agriculture Minister Shivrajan Chauhan on Monday said that agricultural production in the country has increased by 40 per cent in the last 10 years and the growth of the area has increased by 5.4 percent in the fourth quarter of the 2024-25 financial year.

Chauhan, who is present at the events of the central government’s ‘developed Agricultural Sankalp Abhiyan’, said that one percent of agricultural growth is considered to be the largest in the world.

Monday (June June) is a historic day because he said on the first anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third ChiRD tenure.

The year is full of performance, he said.

“If I look at an agricultural point of view, Prime Minister Modi’s vision, policies and programs are the result of agricultural growth in the fourth quarter.


He said that the country has created new records in the production of wheat, rice, soy beans, peanuts and others. In the last ten years, we have increased the production of (agriculture) by 5 percent. There is no food shortage and India is exporting to other countries.

Addressing the rally as a part of the mission, Chauhan said that he had held a meeting with the Officers with the recent India-Pakistan conflict.

He said that he was told that the warehouses were filled and there is no reason to worry even if the conflict is increasing.

He emphasized on food security, increasing the income of the farmers, providing nutritious food and protecting the health of the soil.

Observing that agricultural scientists are being encouraged to interact with farmers, he said that 1,770 scientific teams are visiting villages across the country. Pti
